***Spoiler Review****I don't know if my emotional state comes from reading Beyond 4/19 and Beyond 4/20 back to back or just me being a softy, but I would warn you that if you do the same you may be bawling about 35% into the Beyond 4/20.
I loved John and Chelsea's story and the fairy tale ending was just perfect. However, I guess knowing that there was a broken-hearted first love named Tuck at the end of the story, I should have had some inkling that this story might be painful.
That being said, I think this story does the love story of John and Chelsea as much justice in the 2nd book as the first. No one is guaranteed a certain amount of time on this earth and you would hope that your marriage would be filled with fairy tale moments as theirs was. It did rip my heart out and to be honest, I wasn't sure that I was going to be able to switch gears and route for Tuck to woo Chelsea back. However, the deep commitment, love, passion, desire that he had for Chelsea was something you couldn't deny. Throw in two adorable girls who desperately wanted a complete family and you had an amazing second story. Wow, what woman/girl wouldn't be won over by a man who was willing to do whatever it took to win his beloved back. Waiting for years, letting her go to marry another man, being willing to marry her, even though he knew she was still in love with her first husband. Wow, it was romance at its' BEST. Seriously, Lisa Heaton can write a story and I am putting her on my must read for any new stories she publishes. Her comparison of Christ's love for us as a husband loves his bride was seen throughout and you feel such a deep connection to God and his love for us as much as you feel the romantic love that a husband has for his wife. Read this book and shed some tears, but they will be replaced with joy as you end the story. Then take a chance to read Unmending the Veil afterwards and get your socks knocked off by another powerful story! You won't be disappointed!

If you haven't already read On 4/19, you need to do so before reading this book. Also have a box of tissues handy. This book is such a roller coaster of emotions. If you're looking for a beautiful love story with deep Christian values, this is the book for you. Highly recommend both books.
Im going to say its more of a 4.5 to a 4.8.
Grant it I really did like it a lot. But I guess that biggest thing of kind of got on my nerves is that its VERY repetitive. You read the same phrase over and over again and the same sentiment over and over again. It doesn't take away from the story so much as it I just wished they weren't used so much. Its kind of like ok I get it already.
That being said...The characters were great like they were in the first book. There's ALOT of emotion in this one so have a box of Kleenex handy. I was crying like a baby and I am NOT a crier. So be warned. There was a part I wished the author was more telling on but I cant tell that w/o giving anything away.
But really I did like the story. I was by no means disappointed. The author is fantastic and I look forward to reading more from her.
Absolutely a great read! You go Lisa! I cried, laughed, and cried again while I read this sequel from On 4/19. What a story of grace and redemption from our Father God. He is so merciful.. My heart went out to John and his unselfishness and love for others, still makes me tear up as I'm typing this review. Makes me ponder on the love chaper, 1 Corinthians chapter 13.. Wow, to be so completely surrendered to Our Father God through His Son Jesus Christ. Please readers be sure to read On 4/19 before this sequel, it brings all together.. Thank-you Lisa for sharing your time writing another great read, your a gem..
I can't honestly give this story a better review than what has already been written by other reviewers. I will say it deserves every one of the 5 stars I have given it. First, read "On 4/19" before "Beyond 4/20" so you can fully understand the love everyone has for each other. Second, read with a box of tissues close by, because you are definitely going to need them. And finally, give yourself a lot of extra time, because once you start you are not going to want to put this story down until you finish. Now finish reading everyone's reviews and then get this book.
This book is amazing! You don't want to miss what happens next in the continuing saga of John, Chelsea, and Tuck's story. It is wonderfully romantic, extremely adventurous, but more than anything, it is incredibly redemptive. This book teaches deep lessons about God's sovereignty, grace, and relentless love for US! I went into the book predicting what would happen, but the journey was anything but predictable.There are some awesome twists and turns in this beautiful story. This author has an amazing gift of conveying deep spiritual truths in her stories. Be warned and be prepared It is a very emotionally-charged read. I laughed, I cried, I got angry. I searched my own heart because God speaks in this book. All of her books make me want to know and love God more... better. Read the first one--On 4/19, then without hesitation, please read the sequel, Beyond 4/20. Her other book, Unmending the Veil, is a life-changer too! Lisa Heaton is my NFA! (New Favorite Author) Yay, Lisa!...you did it again!
I LOVED 4/19 so when I saw it had a sequel I clicked "buy" before I read ANY of the reviews. I loved the primary characters from that book and so was happy to see that we would be continuing the story. I can't say I was shocked by what happened in this story but I was shocked. Was I happy for them in the end? I have some pro and cons to be honest. I would read this book again without question. I think what keeps bothering me is that I don't think Tuck needed to mention over and over that he had "won". For some reason this has bothered me for days now. It is not discounting the wonderful book but I think that Chelsea had to make a difficult choice to let go of her true feelings for John. I am not sure why she could not have "really" loved both men. If Tuck was the man he was supposed to be it would seem as if he should be able to recognize he started all of the drama in the first place. Great book though!
